Nicole a young girl at the age of 12 made her way through the Ivy region. She was rather quiet for one who was rather talkative, if that made sense. She was really just a bit worried about going out on her own. She had always dreamed of going on her very own pokemon journey so she was still a little restless about it. Not that she was upset or anything. She had begged for this in the beginning after all.
Nicole walked the streets rather calmly before finding her way to the lab. She was rather surprised when she first saw it. A bit of confusion crossed her face. Was she in the right place? It looked like a lab alright, but like a fusion lab not a pokemon lab. The place was huge, and the glass doors out front just summed up the place in a rather nice heap of motion. To the girl it screamed CLEANLINESS AND NEATNESS ONLY HERE. She wasn't all that sure if this was the right place for her.
But her will and the wanting to become a trainer was overpowering her fears. She took a deep breath before she walked towards the lab. She stopped at the door only long enough to open it and take a step into the lab. She looked around and just like she had predicted she saw confusion and everyone moving. The girl tried to stay out of the way as people in lab coats hustled about the place. Nicole wasn't all that sure if she was in the right place now more than ever.
"Uh... this is the place to get my first pokemon... right?" she mumbled to no one in particular. She was actually rather scared and frightened about what was to come next.

Working inside the lab all day researching different types of evolutionary stones can get tiring after a while. And for an old man like Professor Hawthorn, it's good to get some exersise once in a while. So after finishing up his work, the graying professor decided to take a step out in the cold winds for a trip to the local mart. Picking up more creamer for his coffee and some extra sugar, Hawthon decided to head back to his lab.
Today was thought to be a laid back day. He wasn't expecting any new trainers to come by and pick up their first pokemon and he didn't have any meetings to attend, so he figured maybe going into his office, closing the door and taking a bit of a nap. However as Professor Hawthon was within a minute of his office, he saw the sliding glass doors close. "hmm...who could be visiting today?" he wondered. Maybe his grandaughter, or possibly maintance? It did bring curiosity and with that he picked up a brisk walk.
Steping inside his pristine lab, it was revealed to Hawthon who had came inside only a minute before him; a young curious girl who was no doubt looking to choose a starter. "Excuse me miss, maybe I might be of assistance to you." He extended his hand to the girl in a friendly manner, "I'm Professor Hawthon, the lead professor around her. You're here to get your first pokemon right?" Normally jumping to conclusions wasn't in the professor's nature, but he had been doing this job for a countless number of years and his experience told him that this girl was just like any other trainer who had graced him with their presence.
"Follow me to my office miss so we can get you your started," his plans for a nap were out the window, but helping along rookies was something that Hawthorn always enjoyed.

Nicole didn't have to stand in the middle of the room looking like a complete idiot before the doors behind her seemed to open and close once again. She turned around, rather swiftly. Perhaps someone who could give her directions to the right lab or maybe someone else who was lost. Both of her thoughts were denied when she saw a rather old gentleman walk in. Well, maybe he would be good with directions. That was something that was possible. She looked at him before smiling nicely. She was about to ask him the directions to the right pokemon lab when he said something first.
Could he be of assistance to her? YES HE COULD! She was about to ask her question once again before the man offered her a hand in greeting. The girl stopped before she said anything. She took his hand kindly and shook it. She had always been the polite sort. She had never had a bad bone in her body, and when she did get made it was definitely something that was way over the top. It was just how Nicole found herself often. Nicole smiled again. "It is very nice to meet you sir. Thank you for helping me out. How are you doing today?" she asked kindly. She would never forget her manners above all else.
When he spoke of being a professor. A pokemon professor. So she was in the right place? That made Nicole smile a bit. It was nice to know she wasn't a complete idiot. She had found the right place, but who knew this huge facility would be a pokemon lab? She nodded when he spoke of getting a pokemon. "I am sir. Thank you again." she said. She didn't want to sound rude or uncaring. This man had after all solved all her crisis' in about oh what was it, two minutes now?
She smiled again. Then she couldn't help but hug the man gently. She was glad, to glad maybe. "OH! Sorry about that... i'm just really grateful." she said letting go. When he told her to follow she nodded trying to give him space. He probably didn't want her jumping on him again. She made a mental note not to do that anymore. She followed the professor as he led her to his office.

Being well seasoned in the pokemon professor field, Hawthorn knew quite well what to say and how to get the best experience for his visitors as possible. He had to first find out what the respective trainer was like and how they would might treat their pokemon. That way he could find the best match for the trainer. If the person was a headstrong person who never backed down from a fight, then Professor Hawthorn was more prone to pair the person with a headstrong pokemon. It was all hit or miss really, and it had been quite some time since Hawthorn had missed.
After being hugged and thanked and whatever else the young girl could throw at him, the two had made it to his office. On the back wall was a book shelf lined with a row of pokeballs on each shelf. "I'm sorry miss, how rude of me, I never got your name," truely her name wasn't of much concern, afterall he did already have in mind what pokemon to present her.
Walking over to the shelf, Professor Hawthorn scanned the rows of pokeballs trying to remember which pokemon was in which spot. He reordered them the other day but was having trouble remembering what the order was. "Here's one..." grabbing the first pokeball he wanted, "and two...," the second one was on the first shelf, ".....and.....ah here we go! Three!" The old professor had finally found the three pokemon he thought would be benefical to the young girl.
Professor Hawthorn then walking back to the overly happy trainer called out all three pokemon in a blinding red flash. The one on the left was a....
"This little guy here is Bulbasaur. He's quite the go-getter" Professor Hawthorn smiled. He was a personal fan of grass types. "Bulbasaur likes going out and about to hae fun and get messy. He'll be a handfull, but once you got the hang of it, he'll be a great friend."
The pokemon in the middle let out a long yawn, apparently having a good nap...
"Ah here is Teddiursa. You'll find that Teddiursa is more curious than anything. She's always getting into trouble due to her curiosity." The little pokemon pokemon scratched her head, wondering what was going on.
The last pokemon on the right rolled around on the floor, apparently oblivious to everything else...
"And lastly we have Shinx," Professor Hawthorn paused as the blue pokemon began to chase her tail. "As you can see, she's quite the playful one. There will never be a dull moment with Shinx around. Getting her to concentrate on one thing however might be tough in the beginning. But if you're patient, it'll be well rewarded in the end."
Professor Hawthorn took a step back as he waited for the trainer to decide. He never liked rushing things like these because he knew that once chosen, the pokemon usually always stay with their trainer.

Nicole waited for the prof. to let her come inside. She once again, was thinking about others instead of herself. She walked into his office slowly. It was nicely organized, no wonder. The girl looked at the older gentleman as he went to his shelf that had pokeballs lined up accordingly. She wondered if the man had that much time to remember where he put each pokemon. To be honest with herself, Nicole would probably get lost and be so confused. She would get bored rather fast too. She glanced around as he seemed busy with finding the right pokemon for her.
She looked back towards him, however when he asked her her name. She smiled putting her hands behind her back. "OH! I'm sorry!~ My name is Nicole." she said rocking back and forth on her heels as she waited. She was rather excited now. Her energy was beginning to go off the charts. She wondered what the pokemon would be like that he showed her. She continued rocking on her heels thinking about it. Then, she looked up as a glow of red flashed in her vision.
Out came three pokemon. She looked at them. A bulbasaur, a Teddiursa, and.. a shinx? A rather interesting combination after all. The girl wasn't all that sure what to make of the trio. They were definitely ordinary in their own way. She watched them all, they were all so cute. But it was the personality that made Nicole attracted to pokemon. Nicole looked back and forth between the three. One stood out to her more than anything though. Nicole went over to the shinx that seemed totally oblivious to everything around her.
"Well hello there. Maybe... would you like to go on a fun journey with me?" she asked. She rubbed the females head softly. She hoped it would like her.

With all the introductions out of the way it was obvious with the trainer had chose as her partner. The energetic, oblivious Shinx. "Well then if Shinx is who you want, then here's her pokeball and a pokedex for you to keep." Professor Hawthorn handed over Shinx's pokeball and gave Nicole a brand new pokedex. "I hope you two enjoy eachother's company. Good luck Nicole"
Gender: Female Level: Lvl. 5 Personality: Shinx has a very interesting type of personality. She's constantly on the move doing things. One second she might be trying to catch her tail, and the next second she might be trying to jump to the highest point she can get to and pretend she's a giant Onix. In all the activities that Shinx does, you'll find that she can be quite oblivious to everything around her. But once she's able to concentrate on one thing, Shinx can be extremely productive in whatever she does.
